Family Background Anurag was a decent three-year-old boy of an Anglo-Indian Couple. He was born in an educated family of a navy couple. Being a single child, he was nurtured by the couple with care, love and attention. Moreover, he had received a stable and happy life. The couple’s main priority was to give their son a good education and a very disciplined life. To fulfil this Anurag’s mother took early retirement from work and, however after retirement, she was feeling lonely and presented symptoms of depression which was now a matter of concern for Anurag and his father. Due to the parent’s involvement in the navy, they knew the importance of a regular routine and disciplined work and these same habits were inculcated in him. The school board scheduled a hearing for h is case and his parents and lawyers looked at possible ways to get Anurag excused from the hearing and further punishment, but the school was firm on his decision against zero tolerance conduct. He made a misstep, which ruined his school life and career. These association impacted Anurag’s school life and academic achievement standards in a negative way. Anurag was apologetic and remorseful because his misstep had led his parents down and hindered his academic growth. He accepted his guilt and assured the school and his parents that this ‘stupid’ thing would never happen again in his life. His parents felt disheartened and embarrassed in front of the school board and community. They wrote a letter to management requesting that school consider Anurag’s academic and sports achievement before expelling him from the school. Unfortunately, the school was harsh and unsympathetic on this type of activity, which they seem as marring the name of the school. According to the strict disciplinary procedures, they refused to accept any plea regardless of any mitigating circumstances or prior behaviour.
